ownOnline turned 10 years old in July this year. There was no reason to celebrate, because even then there were plans to end it.
Now the active steps have begun. The servers have been started, new projects are already being stored there. own Online will be shut down in the course of 2025. Many projects. Will not survive. The range of services will be reduced.
- The newsfeed has already been discontinued for some time and will remain so.
- Managed websites will be discontinued. Only a few selected sites will remain under my supervision. There will no longer be a major support campaign.
Pangom
I am not stopping, instead I will be continuing with a few selected offers under a new name.
Pangom – named after a small village in Nepal near the Himalaya – stands for close community, support and customized solutions. The aim is not only to provide technological support, but also to connect and strengthen a community – just as the village of Pangom is an example of cohesion and mutual support.
As a result of the renaming, all services will be available under different domains:

Important, this is an early announcement, the new servers are currently only partially active and not yet set up! Please keep an eye on the migration log below. The date for the active relocation of each project will be announced there.
There are fewer offers, but the motto is “quality over quantity”.

In order to make the migration process as pleasant as possible for everyone, I will take my time to carry it out properly.
As long as the main website of ownOnline.eu is still active, you will always be able to see logbook entries on the current status of the move here. It starts today on 08.09.2024:

– The announcement about the migration has been published
– The users of oOPlay have been made aware of the move in the Laut.fm forum.
– The moving date for oOPlay has been set. On 01 October 2024, oOPlay will go online under its new name PanPlay at play.pangom.net. This will change the play link of the CDN version. To use the CDN version of PanPlay the link must point to the following domain: play.pangom.net/app/0-0-1-10/?lfmstream=zwei instead of oop.ownonline.eu/play/0-0-1-10/?lfmstream=zwei, apart from that the URL structure remains the same. PanPlay will already be available under the new domain from 23 September 2024. A redirect from oOPlay to PanPlay will be activated on 1 October 2024. oOPlay will be discontinued under its old domain in March 2025, after which date oop.ownonline.eu will no longer be accessible.
– A small update has been made to the design of the ownOnline website. Some page elements now use the new Pangom font to get users used to it.
